

Pueblo Viejo is a village in the Punta Gorda, Toledo District bordered with Guatemala. Records shows that the library was opened in July of 1994 with the then Librarian Mr. Gonzalo Choc. The library was set up by Peace Corps volunteer Karen Cueni, and Carlos Juarez. Funding was acquired from CODE for books, furniture, shelving and training.
From August of 1994 to present the library has been managed by Mr. Honoratus Choc . The library holds in its stock approximately eight hundred books and their opening hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday four times a week for one hour from 3:30-4:30 p.m.
